In 1994, Pilar S\u00e1ez de Alb\u00e9niz, Rosa Armend\u00e1riz, and Txaro Mateo carried out the systematic prospecting that covered part of the municipal area of Eslava<\/strong> (excluding the reforestation forest areas north and south of the town), which served to lay the foundations for the historical context of the enclave in its immediate environment and yielded a total of 79 sites dated in the broad chronological range from the Paleolithic to the Modern Age. Funerary remains were also documented at the foot of Cerro de Santa Criz. <\/p>\n
